Community mahi brings new shelter to Tamariki Ako
A new structure at Tamariki Ako – our kids’ bike track area – will give young riders and their whānau a place to shelter in all seasons while they enjoy the track.
The shelter is the result of generous community support and plenty of hard work behind the scenes. A huge thank you to:
- Paul Davis for making the whole thing happen – from sourcing the structure to building it onsite and everything in between
- Stratco NZ for gifting the shelter to the Park
- Baywide Dingos for prepping the pad and digging the holes
- Pete and Jamie Hamelink for helping Paul build the structure onsite
The result is a simple but valuable addition to Tamariki Ako – one that will make a real difference for the tamariki and families who use the bike track, offering shade on hot days and shelter from the rain.
Te Mata Park would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved for their generosity, time, and effort in bringing this project to life.
