LOCATION: This is a common mushroom in Te Mata Park and can often be found individually or in large numbers.
DESCRIPTION: The species produces fruit bodies characterised by the flat, reddish-brown concentric scales on the caps, and an unpleasant odor resembling burnt rubber.
TOXICITY: It can be very poisonous and should be treated with suspicion.
