You are warmly invited to join the Te Mata Park team and volunteer crew on Sunday 27th July, 8.45am – 12pm, for our annual Winter Planting Day.
We will be planting nearly 1,000 native rakau at a spot below the Saddle, adjacent to Webb’s Bush. This is a 10 minute walk from the Saddle car park. Followed by a sausage (vegetarian options available) and hot drink.
Where: meet at the Saddle (see “Saddle Lookout” at the top of this map), briefing starts at 08:45am
When: Sunday 27th July, 08:45am – 12pm
What to bring: gardening gloves, warm clothes, sturdy footwear, spade (planting spades are best), water.
What you need to know
- The planting site this year is sloped and the terrain can be quite steep and uneven
- Children are welcome but will need to be closely supervised
- If possible, please carpool or arrange to be dropped off, to reduce car park congestion
- Wet weather postponement will be advised via our Facebook page
- Registration is essential to secure your spot and help us plan for catering
