You are warmly invited to join the Te Mata Park team for our annual planting day on Sunday 26 July from 10:00am – 12:00pm. This year we’re taking a slightly different approach, with a smaller planting day focussed on children and their whānau planting native trees and plants to surround and shelter Tamariki Ako (our kids’ bike track area).
After the planting is done, we’ll celebrate with a few family-friendly activities including bike riding on the Tamariki Ako track, a sausage sizzle, and a toasted marshmallow or two.
Where: Tamariki Ako – meet at Tauroa Rd carpark and we’ll walk 250m up Chambers Walk to the bike track
When: Sunday 26 July, 10:00am – 12:00pm
What to bring: Gardening gloves, warm clothes, sturdy footwear, a spade, a water bottle, and bikes and helmets for children who would like to ride
