Fauna of Te Mata Park

There are many native birds, bugs, butterflies, and reptiles who call Te Mata Park home. These creatures help to pollinate plants, disperse seeds, cycle plant nutrients, maintain soil health, and decompose and dispose of dead plants and natural waste. They are a biodiverse bunch, and they work together to keep the forest healthy and the food web in flow.
