IMPORTANT NOTICE: LEVEL 4 EXTENSION AND ROAD CLOSURE
Due to an increase in people driving to the Park and heightened concerns around congregation, the police & council are CLOSING access to both car parks. Strictly residents only are permitted to drive on Te Mata Peak Road.
This will continue throughout this extended level 4 period, and will be reviewed next Tuesday 24th August. Walking or biking to the Park is acceptable, as long as you are remaining within your local neighbourhood. No one is permitted to drive to Te Mata Park, and police and security personnel will be monitoring access.
As per Sport NZ guidelines for alert level 4, high risk activities are not permitted. Consequently, Te Ihu (grade 4) and Hori (grade 5) MTB tracks will be closed. MTB shuttling is not permitted and we ask that you ride well within your limits. Please also note that the MTB tracks in the local Havelock North reserves will also be closed as of today.
